Transfer or mapping of domain name?

  What would be best if I bought a domain name with GoDaddy?

  Hi –

  There’s not a right or wrong answer, and neither is permanent. You can always take the domain and go somewhere else in the future, just keep that in mind. Is the domain new? It can’t be transferred until it’s 60 days old. That might help in making your decision. Write back to let us know.

  Hi !
  I went on the Go Daddy site and it is written:

  “Records
  Last updated 19-08-15 8:33 PM
  WordPress template applied.”

  What does it mean? And how can I start the set up on the “create a site” page, when they are asking to “Give your site an address”?

  I’m not sure what that means, but it sounds like you’re building a WordPress site on GoDaddy’s hosting, not here.

  If you want to create a site here, you can get started at https://wordpress.com/start

  Then, as for the domain, you have two options:

  1. Mapping allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  2. A transfer would allow to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/
