Transfer URLS

  Hello! I own both stephismithjoy.wordpress.com and stephismith.wordpress.com and I’d like to switch over those urls so that stephismithjoy.wordpress.com is actually stephismith.wordpress.com…if that makes sense? It’s kind of confusing. If I go to delete stephismith, it tells me I can’t use it again and obviously I want to use it for my main blog. How can I do that?

  Hi there,

  Please don’t delete either address. Then you won’t be able to use it at all.

  The name change tool can only be used if the new address has not been registered yet. So as you already own the address you want to use, you’ll need to transfer your content manually by exporting it from the one site, and importing it to the other:

  Import

  Your theme, widgets, customizations and settings you’ll need to reconfigure on the new site manually as well as there’s no way to export those.

  Once you’ve moved everything over, let me know and I can also transfer your followers and your stats to the new site. Post likes cannot be transferred.
