Transfer vs Mapping

  I just purchased from networksolutions several domain names with various extensions (e.g. .com, .org, etc.), but am not sure whether it’s best to transfer them to WordPress, or simply map them to the WordPress site. Any advice on advantages/disadvantages would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  Personally if I was planning on creating a site here at WordPress.com using a domain I already own then I would transfer to keep everything in one place. Note that in your case if you’ve owned the domain(s) for less than 60 days then mapping is the only way to get up and running here at WordPress.com straight away.
