Hi there,
Where is your site currently hosted? In general, if your site is a self-hosted WordPress site hosted elsewhere, you can follow these instructions to move your site to WordPress.com:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/
However, if the site is on a totally different platform like Xanga, Blogger, or Weebly, let me know and I can provide information to you on how to handle that migration as well.
Thanks!

That’s very nice of you. It’s hosted elsewhere and my web guy used Dreamweaver. I’d be transferring TO WordPress.
He’d like to be able to upload files/html and move the site over intact. It would be truly horrible to start over.
If that can be done, I’d go for the upgrade so I could get help and drive traffic to my site. I’m a writer.
Thanks.

Ah, Dreamweaver. Unfortunately, there is no easy way to convert static HTML used in Dreamweaver to a CMS like WordPress. The easiest thing to do is to pick a theme for your WordPress.com site and manually move over your content to that site.
It may take some time to do this depending on how much content you have, but managing the content moving forward should be pretty easy using WordPress.com.
Hope this helps.
Thanks!

Just noting that there was a form hiccup and a second thread created at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/transfer-website-to-wordpress-ie-upload-html?replies=6#post-3087529 which @gemmacevans also replied to. I’ve closed that one to keep all the support in one place. Cheers.

Related question, I need to migrate site created in MS Frontpage to my WP.com account I do not have access to the MS Frontpage app and the client is partially sighted so I don’t want him to be troubled. Short of cut and paste what easy migration options can you recommend the site to be moved is http://www.normangrubb.com

Hey @faithfruits,
Same situation with MS Frontpage. The site consists of static HTML that won’t be easy to convert.
It looks like there is a self-hosted WordPress plugin that you can use to try and convert your Frontpage site, but it’s not guaranteed to work. See this old thread:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/frontpage-to-wordpress-conversion?replies=3
As a colleague mentioned:
You can use a temporary WordPress site like http://poopy.life/ (that’s a real domain), or a free host like http://thisistap.com/ to set up a self-hosted site, install the plugin, convert your site, and then create a WordPress export file which you can import here.
However, copy and pasting the text may be the most feasible way of moving your content over to WordPress.com.

Thanks Darnell I think I’ll try that temp site option first as there is a lot of content on the site at least I’ll haves learned a new skill if it works that others may benefit from :)
