Transfering GoDaddy to WordPress.com

    I’ve opened a WP account and want to purchase a Business plan. Once that is in place my web designer will do the rest. In short … I do not want to abandon the existing hosting until everything is ready to move over. I cannot find a way around having to transfer the domain immediately.

    Hi there!

    You can start by choosing a free .wordpress.com address when signing up for a paid plan and creating a new site.

    Instead of entering the domain right away, you’ll have the option to search for a .wordpress.com address (something like yourdomain.wordpress.com) to proceed with the site creation process.

    Don’t worry about the WordPress.com address as once you have configured your own domain, the site will start loading on the custom domain. The WordPress.com address will then redirect to the domain you will have added to the site.
