Transfering over to Godaddy
-
Hey guys.
So i have purchased a domain through godaddy. I also have a seperate account with wordpress. I am trying to transfer/merge my wordpress data over to my godaddy account.
The problem i am seeing is that i have to pay 13$ to do this? But this does not make sense because i can go to godaddy and create a wordpress setup for free.
So I am wondering, am i able to download my wordpress info and then reupload it to godaddy to continue my hosting with all my previous posts(only have 3)? Or do i really have to go and pay the extra 13$? I was told before i purchased my domain, that it could be done and would be free of charge by someone online, but it seems i can’t figure it out.
Any help would be great

The $13 is to map a custom domain to a WordPress.com blog or do a redirect so your whatever.wordpress.com blog smoothly redirects to your whatever.com blog over at GoDaddy.
If you only have three, and your current blog is not pulling in a thousand hits a day, don’t bother. Just buy a domain name and set it up at GoDaddy and set your WP.com one to private. We don’t recommend deleting it entirely because it’s always useful to have a private blog to try out themes and widgets and such, and also, who knows: you might get an offer for the name.
