Transfering wordpress.org back to wordpress.com
-
Please help!! I transferred my wordpress.com blog last year to host it myself, after that year and little effort on my part to learn the ins-and-outs of webhosting etc I decided to transfer my blog back to wordpress.com. I am confused to say the least. I have ended my hosting with bluehost and pointed the nameservers to wordpress. I think I renewed redirecting my domain name twice today and could really use help. I no longer see my wordpress blog and created a new one today by mistake… I’m sorry for adding to the confusion. My original blog was dailytrippn.wordpress.com – I purchased dailytrippn.com, and have no idea where dailytrippn.wordpress.com went. I now also have dailytrippdotcom.wordpress.com which has dailytrippn.com directed to it as of this evening. My wordpress.com username is sunnyshine707. I’m really in need to help sorting out this mess and would love to see dailytrippn.com directed to dailytrippn.wordpress.com associated with my sunnyshine707 account. And I would like to renew dailytrippn.com with wordpress.com as it is set to expire soon.
Blog url: http://dailytrippn.wordpress.com/ -
dailytrippn.com will work, you just need to set it as primary via Store -> Domains in your blog’s Dashboard.
The biggest issue is that you had purchased both Domain Mapping and Site Redirect for the same domain. Domain Mapping directs a domain to your WordPress.com blog, Site Redirect directs traffic from your WordPress.com blog to an external domain, so you created a redirection loop. I canceled and refunded your Site Redirect upgrade.
As for the domain, I moved it to dailytrippn.wordpress.com as requested.
We cannot accept incoming domain transfers, so you won’t be able to renew it here. You have a domain mapping subscription with us, but it is still registered elsewhere.
