Transferred Domain from WordPress to Wix, how do you access old backend?

I recently transferred the domain of a wordpress hosted website to wix and am unable to login to old backend of the wordpress site. Is there any way to access the old account and some of the content that was associated with the former site?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That is not the site address….it’s a different website for a non-profit I do some work with.

  • Hi there,

Can you please tell us the address of the site you actually need help with?

If the WordPress site was here on WordPress.com, all the content will still be available and accessible online at the free *.wordpress.com address. You’ll need to be logged in as the WordPress.com account that owns the site to export or make changes to that content.

If you were using the open source WordPress software at another host, you need to contact that host for help. Hopefully the hosting account is still online, in which case you should be able to access the content again as soon as you connect a new domain to that site. If the hosting account has already been cancelled, the host might already have deleted that content, but in that case they’ll hopefully still have a backup of the content that they can provide to you.
