Transferred my domain from GoDaddy to Namecheap. wordpress website gone
-
Hello every1,
Yesterday I found out my GoDaddy domain was expired, so I went ahead and transferred my domain to a provider that’s been recommended to be a better option; NameCheap.
In doing so, now my WordPress website: http://www.milieuevents.com is gone. completely gone. I can log into my WordPress account but it says I don’t have any website.
I usually accessed it via http://www.milieuevents.com/wp-admin/ – this does not work anymore.
I recall configuring something deep within godaddy for this my WordPress to be activated somehow. Now I’m asking:
Is this recoverable?
Your help is much appreciated. I want to understand if I can somehow redeem my site, by transferring something over to my new registry provider, namecheap.com.
Thanks,
ThorSite: milieuevents.com.

Your site was not hosted with WordPress.com. It was a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with GoDaddy.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
The site was also not using our backup product https://jetpack.com/upgrade/backup/ so we won’t be able to directly assist with this.
I recommend contacting GoDaddy to ask if they still have a backup copy of your account with them: https://www.godaddy.com/help
