Transferring a domain

  If I transfer my domain to WP from my existing provider, Crazy Domains, will that transfer the email addresses also? I’d prefer to have everything in one place rather than just mapping the existing domain to WP but I obviously need to be assured that the emails will continue to work….excuse my ignorance! Thanks

  Hi –

  When a domain is transferred or mapped to WordPress.com we attempt to grab all of the DNS records. While we can’t guarantee the email will not experience an interruption it should continue to work once the transfer is completed. It’s important to note that it does take 5 days for a transfer to process. I’d suggest setting up an auto responder and also a notice on your site about the delay.
