Transferring a domain to wordpress

    My old webmaster is giving me my URL so I can manage it myself. How do I transfer hosting of the already existing URL to WordPress? It is registered to my old webmaster through anther server, but he gave me the code to transfer it. I don’t see anything in wordpress instructions on how to transfer a URL that requires a code to transfer.

    While we register new domains here at WordPress.com, we’re not able to accept incoming transfers of existing domain names. Therefore, we recommend that you keep the name registered at your current registrar. You can use the domain for your site here at WordPress.com by mapping the domain, as explained here:
