Transferring archives to new site

I run a student newspaper at my university. Currently we have a wordpress site hosted through one of the state newspapers, which greatly limits what we can do and customize. I’m looking into creating our own separate wordpress site, but the only thing is we have a ton of past articles and archive content on our site. Is there any easy way to transfer those over?

Hi there, it isn’t too much of a hassle to do that. If you are talking about transferring the content to a site here at WordPress.com, then see this support page for the procedure.

If you are talking about moving the content from the original site and to a site hosted elsewhere, the procedure is very similar, except that you would be importing into the new site at the new web host.
