transferring current html website to a wordpress version

How can I change my html website hosted with Host Gator to a WordPress website with all the support and trimmings

Hi @frozenrose59, it depends on how your site is set up, but we have some steps for you here:
https://transferto.wordpress.com/drag-and-drophtml-site-builders/You’ll also want to consider whether to host here with us or use your own installation:
I hope this helps! If you have questions, let us know.

I have a built-from-scratch site hosted by Hostgator. I am not familiar with coding for mobile and would like the site to become WordPress as I understand that automatically renders pages to be mobile friendly. Also other benefits, backups, management etc.
I want to take the content from my HTML pages (use also javascript and a tiny bit of php for my forms) and put them into the WordPress format.
Am I even making sense here? I’m not sure I fully understand how WordPress works but my client wants the site to now be via WordPress.
I want to remain with Hostgator as the site is part of a package I have with them. -
Ok. You’re going to be using the open source, WordPress software.
Review this material to get started:
