Transferring domain
-
I put in a request to transfer a domain to WordPress and checked out for $18. Do I have to wait a few days for it to update? When can I expect the domain transfer to happen and reflect on my account?

Hi there!
I’ve checked your account and it looks like the domain transfer failed to initiate. Based on the logs, it seems you may have started transferring the domain to another registrar from your current registrar’s end. (Your current registrar seems to be Squarespace.)
Please contact your current registrar to see if the domain is already in a transfer process. If yes, please cancel the transfer process first. Once you’ve done that, please follow the steps here again to start the transfer process on our end: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/#start-the-transfer-on-word-press-com
The $18 you paid is now added to your WordPress.com account as credits so you won’t be charged for transferring the domain again.
However, note that you will need a paid WordPress.com plan to use the domain as primary on WordPress.com. You can check out our plans and pricing here: https://wordpress.com/pricing
If you upgrade to a yearly paid plan, the domain transfer fee will be included for the first year. Since you have the $18 credits on your account already, I’d suggest upgrading to a yearly paid plan to take advantage of this (as you’ll need a paid plan anyway to use your domain as primary). Otherwise, your domain will redirect to the WordPress.com address even after it’s transferred to us.
If you have any questions about any of the above, feel free to let us know and we’ll be happy to clarify further.
Regards
