transferring domain

    I just secured a domain name thru godaddy. I don’t know why I didn’t just do it thru upgrade here–my bad. I cannot transfer for 60 days, but if I map it now can I then transfer after 60 days or is it just best to wait til it’s available to transfer. I don’t want to be paying in two separate places…

    Domain mapping is a great option for using a domain on WordPress.com site until it is ready for transfer. Mapping won’t affect your ability to transfer the domain — that process can be initiated once 60 days have passed and the name servers will already be pointing to your site here.

    Once the domain has been transferred, you will only need to pay us for the renewal each year.
