Transferring Domain

  I just recently (May) renewed my domain with Squarespace but have decided to move it due to cost. I would like to know, if I transfer it to WordPress, will I have to also pay WordPress to renew it for a year from the date of transfer?

  Hi there,

  To transfer that domain to us you will need to pay one of our paid plans, but the transfer process also automatically renews the domain for another year, so you won’t lose any of the time you’ve already paid for on this domain. If the domain expires in May, it will still expire in May, but another year later, even if you transfer it to us in July.
