Transferring domain from GoDaddy to WordPress

I would like to transfer my domain from GoDaddy to WordPress.com.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m sorry, but while we register new domains here at WordPress.com, we’re not able to accept incoming transfers of existing domain names. Therefore, we recommend that you keep the name registered at your current registrar.
However, you can still use the domain for your site here at WordPress.com by mapping the domain, as explained here:

That’s very disappointing. Why wouldn’t WordPress want to host my domain?
I have mapped my domain to WordPress. But I have found GoDaddy’s advertising to be sexist to a reprehensible degree, and I was hoping this would be an opportunity to leave them.
I am also disappointed that I can’t advertise on my site. Switching to WordPress has been a much less satisfying experience than I’d hoped!

Why wouldn’t WordPress want to host my domain?
You can host with us – by updating the nameservers and mapping the domain as I mentioned above. That would be hosting with us.
You just wouldn’t be able to register the domain through us.
I am also disappointed that I can’t advertise on my site. Switching to WordPress has been a much less satisfying experience than I’d hoped!

But your site seems to be telling me that I have to have my domain registered with you in order to use WordAds. Am I misunderstanding this?
The site I want to advertise on is numberoneinhistory.com – the URL registered through GoDaddy.

On the FAQ page of WordsAds site that I provided you above it states this:
A: We are unable to provide WordAds for blogs with the default free [example].wordpress.com URL, so you’ll need to either register a new domain name or map an existing domain name to your WordPress.com blog of choice.
So if you map an existing domain as I mentioned before you do not need to register your domain through us. As long as you map your domain to us you can apply for WordsAds.

OK — I’m still working on this issue. In order to ditch GoDaddy, I have transferred my domain to Namecheap. Unfortunately, in the process, my domain “numberoneinhistory.com” no longer forwards to my WordPress site, numberoneinhistorydotcom.wordpress.com.
I have a feeling this has something to do with DNS servers and other lingo I don’t understand. Can you help? Thanks.

It looks like your domain is not pointing to WordPress.com name servers yet:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/?host=numberoneinhistory.com
Please go to your domain registrar’s site and log into the control panel. You will need to update the name servers as below:
- NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

Once you have that up and running you should be set! Please note that it may take a bit for everything to propagate. It would also be a good idea to try clearing out your cache and cookies once you update the nameservers using the guide below:
