Transferring domain name registration

  I registered my domain name with godaddy and am hosting it on wordpress. Can I renew the registration on wordpress and not deal with godaddy anymore?

  If you would like to completely transfer your domain to another registrar, you must wait 60 days from the original purchase date. This is standard across all registrars. It is a rule set by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
