Transferring domain name to wordpress dns

    I want to get my wordpress website all set up before I transfer my domain name to wordpress. This does not appear to be an option

    Hi there,

    You can absolutely do this, yes. Go to https://wordpress.com/start/site/ and create a new site. On the domains step don’t search for a full domain, but only a key word. That will allow you to select a free WordPress.com or .blog address for the site.

    Continue the process to select the plan you want to use and create the site from there.

    Once the site is created, you can work on it at the free address – it will already be fully accessible at that address once you launch it – and then you can connect your domain later, when you’re ready.
