Transferring domain sooner than 60 days?

    I recently created the domain surfaceof a Bubble and I need to map it to a website I created on Squarespace. Since I just registered the domain 15 days ago , I understand that there is typically a 60 day waiting period before I can do it. Is there anyway I can get this accomplished quicker? I do not have that long to wait. I also understand that I cannot redirect my WordPress domain because Squarespace does not have nameservers I can switch to. Is there anything you can do to help me?

    Hi there,

    The 60-day waiting period is mandated by ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) so there isn’t a way to skip that waiting period. However, you can still map your domain to Squarespace during that time using custom A records.

    We have instructions for mapping a domain to another host using custom A records here: Setting Custom A Records

    Squarespace has their instructions for mapping a domain to them here (including the specific CNAME and A records that need to be added): http://help.squarespace.com/guides/mapping-a-domain-general-instructions

    I went ahead and made those changes for you, so you’re all set on this end. (Please note that it can take up to 72 hours for changes like that to take effect.) However, you should take a look at the Squarespace instructions — Step 3 includes some changes you’ll need to make at Squarespace to use your domain there.
