Transferring Domains

  I have a clarification question about the transferring of a domain and the results from doing so.

  I began drafting a website on wordpress and I need to transfer my old domain to this drafted site. I do NOT want any of my old website though. I do not want that information to transfer in. I just want my old domain on my newly created website. I want that old website gone. Is this possible. Can the old site be deleted once the domain is transfered?

  You will need the Domain Mapping upgrade to do that. Domain Mapping is included in all WordPress.com paid plans:

  Once you have purchased a plan, here is a support document that will explain how to set up Domain Mapping with your domain:

  You can also transfer registration of your domain to WordPress.com if you choose:

  Can the old site be deleted once the domain is transfered?

  Yes, the old site will not be needed once you have your domain connected to your WordPress.com site.
