Transferring existing domain to the new club site.

Hello. I am the new novice website admin for Highland Village Women’s Club. There is an existing domain name hvwclub.com that was created by the previous web admin. I just updated the look of our women’s club site, but the board membership would still like to use the existing domain name. I’m not sure which web hosting hvwclub.com is in and how do I go about the unlocking and getting the code.

hvwclub.com is registered with GoDaddy, and we have two ways to use a domain you already own with a site here at WordPress.com:
Mapping allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/
A transfer would allow to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

Thank you, MacManx for replying to my question. I did the transfer of the old domain of hvwclub.com and it is in the process of transferring to the new website I created for the club. The club has chosen the Premium plan for 2 years and its already paid.
However, I did not launch the website yet with its current domain of https://wordpress.com/view/hvwclub.wordpress.com
Should I launch the site already even if the domain transfer of hvwclub.com isn’t yet completed?Thank you,

You can launch the site at any time: https://wordpress.com/support/settings/privacy-settings/#launch-your-site
But, I recommend keeping the primary domain as the hvwclub.wordpress.com address until the transfer has completed: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/#set-a-primary-address
