Transferring from a blog to a website
-
Hello. I’m sure the answer to my question is here somewhere but I’m not sure where. I presently have a blog (onbeingone.wordpress.com). I have purchased the domain name “heartwhisper.us” and wish to create a website and import my posts to it and “close down” (delete?) the blog site (does that even make sense?). How do I do that? Also, what do I need to do to receive emails addressed to me at the website (i.e., (email visible only to moderators and staff)) are received through my Outlook account? And may I reply to these emails with the @heartwhisper address?
Thanks, Jean-Pierre
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Jean-Pierre,
If you’d like, you can change your current blog into a website without having to close down the blog and move things around.
We have a guide for setting up a front page so visitors will see that page instead of your blog when they arrive on the site. That guide includes steps to move your blog to a separate page on the site.
Then, you can map your domain heartwhisper.us to your WordPress.com site. That will point your domain at your site here and show that domain in the browser’s address bar (instead of your onbeingone.wordpress.com address) when people visit it. We have a full guide to Map a Domain with the steps to do that.
Once the domain is mapped, you can add email to that domain. You can either set up email forwarding (so emails sent to an email address with your domain in it are forwarded to your personal email address) or you can add full email service with an email provider (so you can also reply from that email address with your domain in it).
If you have any questions, or if you’d like help with any of those steps, please let me know. :)
