Transferring hosting account

  I have my own site hosted by a third party. I have https and everything, if I upgrade to the business plan how much extra will it cost to get everything I now have.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  It’s not really possilble to answer you, as you’ve provided no information about what you currently have. You only mention https, but that’s included by default on all WordPress.com sites, even free ones.

  You can find details on everything included in the Business Plan here:

  In addition to the plan you’ll also still have to continue paying for your own domain – the plan allows you to connect the domain to us, or even transfer it to us for free, but the annual payment for the domain’s renewal is separate from the plan, regardless of whether you transfer it to us or leave it with your current provider.

  Also note that while the plan gives you the ability to install custom themes and plugins, it does not include any premium plugins sold by other companies. So if you’re using any premium plugins or themes, you still need to pay for those at the places where you bought them.

  This is definitely possible, but you’ll need to follow this order of events:

  1. Start a new site on WordPress.com and upgrade to the Business Plan: https://en.support.wordpress.com/business-plan/

  2. Add a new Administrator to your current site that matches your username on WordPress.com.

  3. Delete your previous user on your current site, you will be prompted to transfer ownership of your posts to the new Administrator who matches your username on WordPress.com, do that.

  4. Disconnect Jetpack on your current site at Jetpack > Dashboard > Site Connection > Manage Site Connection in your site’s Dashboard.

  5. On both sites, add the All In One WP Migration plugin: https://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/adding-plugins/

  6. Follow the plugin’s instructions to transfer your site: https://help.servmask.com/knowledgebase/all-in-one-wp-migration-user-guide/

  7. Finally, it’s time to map the domain to your new WordPress.com site: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
