Or, you can go the DIY route and buy your own hosting, install WordPress there (that part is usually pretty easy), and keep it maintained on your own. WordPress.org has documentation and a helpful community if you have any tech questions.
Managed hosting will typically cost more than DIY, as the support and service aspects can quickly get complex given how many variables can go into a WordPress site with plugins.
