Transferring to WordPress

  Why is it an extra £16 a year to transfer an existing website when the previous company is closing? Would it be better to let the old one close then start a new one with WordPress but still using the old web address? Obviously I’m a novice!!! Simple words please!!!

  Domain expiration is a lengthy and complicated process that takes about 90 days. You can learn more about expired domains here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-expiration/

  In general, it’s impossible to re-purchase a domain after it expires for several months.

  In this case, we recommend transferring it.
