Transfert Domain from Wix to WordPress

    I am currently trying to transfer my domain name from Wix to WordPress. After asking Wix to point my domain’s name servers to the following:
    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com

    They answered to me that:
    ‘Currently, it is not possible to connect your Wix domain externally via Name Servers, only pointing. Please contact your site host and ask for the relevant DNS records (e.g., A record, CNAME record) that the domain should point to. Make sure to let your new site host know you need to point your domain to them without changing name servers as this is not possible with a Wix domain. If you’re required to change the name servers, you’ll need to transfer your domain away from Wix to connect it.’

    Anyone knows what I could do? Getting desperate here…

    Hi Léa –

    Sure thing. You _can_ do it this way but it is not recommended.

    Please share the following with Wix.

    192.0.78.24
    192.0.78.25

    It can take up to 72 hours for the changes to take full effect. Don’t panic if you don’t see your domain loading a WordPress.com site.

    You’re also going to need to add the personal plan to your account before the mapping will work. To do that go to https://wordpress.com/plans/

    Once that’s added you can continue with the domain mapping setup: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

    Hi,

    Many thanks for your answer.

    The problem is that I would like to completely transfer the domain to WordPress and avoid to map it.

    How can I do this? I already have the domain open and the Domain Transfer Authorization Code, I just need to update the servers name.

    It sounds like you are on the right track.

    In order to host the domain with us, you need to purchase a paid plan. That should be your next step
