    Hi, I just want to do a free trial of wordpress to see if this website is what I would like to use. I already have a domain, but if I just want to test out wordpress, do you recommend mapping my domain or transfer?

    Hi there,

    Both mapping and transferring a domain requires that you upgrade to a paid plan. We don’t offer free trials of our paid plans on WordPress.com, but we do offer a free plan that’s free indefinitely, along with a free WordPress.com address that’s generated automatically when you create a site with us.

    So you can test out how things work at that free address before you decide if you want to upgrade and move your domain over to us.

    As for whether to map or transfer, that’s completely up to you. With mapping your domain will stay registered at your current provider, so you’ll keep renewing it with them every year. If you transfer, the registration moves to us, so you’ll pay us for the annual domain renewal instead.
