Trouble with configuring pages

  Hi! I am experiencing some difficulty in configuring the pages on my blog. First, my homepage has my blog posts in order from oldest to newest which goes against the essence of a blog’s reverse chronology. I want them to display as newest to oldest. Secondly, I tried to add a page that is specific to my blog posts, and when I preview it in the editor, it looks good, but when I publish it, it links to my about page instead of my blog posts?
