Try to get back a domain name

Sorry for putting forward such application that caused all by my mistake. So today I signed an account and named my website: aprilsophie.wordpress.com Then I found that I already registered one 3 years ago and there were also some articles I published. While I still want to change my older website’s domain name to the new one( aprilsophie.wordpress.com). I signed in my new account and try to discard the domain name but I ticked the box by accident and now that domain name is reserved now. Now I am using the old account sending this application and it’s ok if you want me to sign in the new account to prove the discard one is also me. Now I just want to get the domain name back and I understand it’s overclaim but please.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello,

I just want to make sure I’ve understood what you would like to do. It sounds like you want the following:

    • Keep the new site aprilsophie.wordpress.com
    • Delete the old site frontendsophie.wordpress.com
    • Display the posts you have already written on frontendsophie.wordpress.com, on your new site aprilsophie.wordpress.com

    Is that correct?

Now I just want to get the domain name back

Are you referring to a custom domain name, or the WordPress.com address (aprilsophie.wordpress.com)?

Once I know more, I can point you in the right direction!

Hello, thank you so much for your respond. Now I am using the old site frontendsophie.wordpress.com and I want to change its domain name to aprilsophie.wordpress.com. That’s it.

Well the problem is aprilsophie.wordpress.com has been reversed due to my misoperation. So what should I do now?

    Hi there,

When you create a WordPress.com account, the equivalent WordPress.com address is reserved. So when you created your frontendsophie account, frontendsophie.wordpress.com was reserved for you.

The user account aprilsophie has been deleted which is why you seeing a message to say the WordPress.com address has been reserved. It’s not possible to ‘undelete’ a WordPress.com account so you will not be able to use that address.

One option would be to change your blog address:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

Although you won’t be able to change it to aprilsophie.wordpress.com, you could choose something similar. Please be aware that this process cannot be reversed.

Let me know if you have any questions.
