  it says ‘Sorry, there was a problem closing your account. Please contact support.’

  Hi –

  Typically that error means that there’s some type of upgrade or purchase that needs removed before the account can get closed. In this case, though, I do not see anything preventing account closure. Could you try signing out and back in to WordPress.com to see if it will allow you to close the account then? Thanks.
