trying to connect my substack to my wordpress page

trying to connect my substack to the bottom of my website page and it’s not working. I used a custom html block but it says “refuses to connect”

If you’re adding a signup form, don’t embed your regular Substack page URL, that can cause the “refuses to connect” message.
In Substack, go to Settings > Growth features, copy the unique signup-form code, and paste the entire code into the Custom HTML block.
Your homepage currently has a Kit form under “Get my free digital resource!” You can replace that with the Substack block or place the new block beside it. If you only want people to visit your Substack, use a Button block linked to it instead.
Your site is self-hosted with Namecheap rather than WordPress.com. If Substack’s generated code still gives the same error, post the code and error in the WordPress.org support forums so they can help identify whether a plugin or security setting is blocking it. After saving, check the live page in a private browser window to make sure visitors can load the form.
