trying to find the email address the last webmaster used for my sites blog
-
is there a way to locate the login email for a blog just based on its URL?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
There is not.
If a site is hosted on WordPress.com, we can tell you the username of the account that owns the site, but under no circumstances will we provide you with the email address associated with that username.
If the site is using the open source WordPress software the admin account for the site has no connection at all to WordPress.com, and we’ll have no information about it at all.
The only place where you might possibly find an email is in the public Whois data for the domain, but that would depend on whether or not the domain owner bought privacy protection from their domain provider when registering the domain. And even then the owner of the domain might not be the same person that’s the webmaster for the site.

Thanks for the reply kokkieh. This is a blog for our business and the employ who made it no longer works here and will not respond to any emails. Meaning we can’t get into the account.
Is there a way to have this taken down by WordPress by request of the business owner or will it always remind hosted?
We would like to petition WordPress to take it down, if possible.

We’d need proof of ownership. Can you confirm the site? You’re the administrator on the site you listed. If you’ll send the site you’re concerned about we can take a look and make a recommendation accordingly.

Hey we should be the admin. Can you check and confirm if this is true?
Also we have bought WordPress Premium for our updated site. We just want this site removed and to have access to that url of that blog for our new one.
https://bnobeautyblog.com/ – this is the blog we no longer want online and we should own it. We want this url for our new site (*looks very similar): https://benaturalorganics.wordpress.com/
Also can we confirm we are not paying for two premium accounts? We just want the one for https://benaturalorganics.wordpress.com/.
Let me know how we can prove ownership. I can send you information on our Volusion store which the blog was created to support.

The account that owns that site has the username,
joanneodonnelBut that account is the only user on the site, it appears the upgrades on the site was bought with a personal credit card, and the domain was registered under that user’s own name not the name of an organisation.
The regulations governing domain ownership are very strict, and given the details above, the user joanneodonnel is the owner of that domain, nor your business, so we cannot turn over control of the domain to you under any circumstances.
If you’re able to provide, for example, a valid transaction ID for a payment on that site we should be able to give you access to the account, but even then there might be a waiting period before we could allow you to make any changes to the domain.
So really the best option here is to get in touch with your former employee so they can transfer the site and upgrades to you instead.

Thanks for the info kokkieh – I should be able to provide the credit card transaction and my id which is Joanne O’Donnell.
I’ll search for it and get back to you on this thread. Is their a wp support email I should send this transaction ID to instead of this public forum?
Also by transaction ID I assume you mean information from my credit card company on the last time this wp was charged?

Hi benaturalorganics,
Is their a wp support email I should send this transaction ID to instead of this public forum?
There is, yes. You can send it to us through the account recovery form:
https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery
Please don’t share the transaction ID on these public forums :)
Also by transaction ID I assume you mean information from my credit card company on the last time this wp was charged?
The transaction ID can be found on your bank statement. We have some information about what to look for here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/transaction-id/#if-you-dont-have-access-to-the-receipt
We’ll be here if you have any questions.
