Trying to Get Company to move to WordPress

  • Unknown's avatar

    Good Afternoon,

I am trying to convince my company (very small, only 4 people) to move to a wordpress site. Right now our site is controlled by a programmer who works full time in another company and does this part time. Their ability to update continuously is hindered.
I started setting up in WordPress.com, soon to realise I should actually be doing it in .org
however, i don’t want this to be hosted yet, i just want to set it up so they can see how it looks.

but there doesn’t seem to be any way to do this without dumping money somewhere, either in hosting (which i don’t need) or as a professional package (€25 per month) which i don’t need

  • Hi –

I’m curious to learn why you think WordPress.org is needed? Please share a bit more about the site and project so we can have a good understanding and then proceed with more accurate advice.

Generally speaking, the free WordPress.com option is going to be the only way to get something built for free that you can present.

Once that site is built you can connect the domain to it – instead of building another new site from the beginning. Does that make sense? You can also create multiple free sites on the account if you’d like to set up a few different demo options for your presentation.

Write back with more questions so we can figure out the best way forward.
