Trying to import a website with cart functionality

    The host/web designer of our website is closing their doors and we have to move the website to a new host. The suggested wordpress, but I don’t see anything that looks like what I need. I was hoping it would be just signing up for a new service and giving the transfer code (because that is all I know how to do), but it seems much more difficult than that. Please help! :)

    You will not be able to do ecommerce here; the code is stripped out. WordPress.com is for professional blogging and business and personal blogging, but not ecommerce. What the web dev probably meant was that you need to get a site with software from WordPress.ORG, not WordPress.COM. So you will need to find a new host and move the content over there.
