Trying to import from my old site

It’s asking me pick the author but it actually doesn’t click through. And the start import button isn’t highlighted to allow click through.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What is the URL of the old blog and is your old blog hosted here with WordPress.com or elsewhere? Also, what is the author name of the old blog? I’d like to take a look at the site.

The url is afroklectic.com and I am trying to transfer to afroklectic.wordpress.com, that blog is currently empty and on private.
There are five options for the author and I only want to go through with one (Gillean Opoku), but as mentioned it doesn’t give me the option to import once the author window comes up. -
That’s rather odd.
I’d recommend importing all authors, then you can choose to delete the unwanted authors and everything they did.
If that doesn’t work out, we can empty the site and try again.

I have tried a few times and it still hasn’t worked. Maybe emptying the site would be suitable. Thanks

If we do that, you’ll lose all content on the site.
If you’re ok with that, please reply with the URL of the site you want to empty as a confirmation step.

What exactly do you mean you want to only go through with one?
That option you’re seeing here is listing the authors with published content on the site, and asking you who the author should be for that content on the new site. It’s not asking you which authors you want to import – if you exported the content for all authors, it will import the content for all authors, period. There’s no way to make that type of selection during the import process.
I’ve checked the file you’ve been trying to import to the site, and I’m able to upload it to the importer on your site without problems – on the Authors page the import button shows as active to me. And I’m able to import it to a test site without problems.
I’ve emptied the site, and have also reset the importer. Please try importing the file again.

There shouldn’t be an option for clicking the author. You’re the only user on afroklectic.wordpress.com, so all posts you’re importing should automatically be assigned to you as the author.
If you want to share a screen shot, upload it to My Site ->Site ->Media, and we’ll be able to see it there.

Does that view from the screen shot scroll at all? If you scroll down the author list can you find your username?

Hmm….I logged as you and downloaded your XML file and did not have any problems generating the author on this end:
Have you tried a different browser to see if the same thing happens?

What happens when you click on the Choose an author… link? Does it let you select a user?
