Trying to make updates to footer.php

  Having issues making updates to footer. I’m literally updating the copyright year and icons. I’ve been able to make changes before. Now receiving the following error message: Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.

  From what you tell it looks your site uses the open source wordpress.org. their support is at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
