Trying to reset account

I have just come back to my WordPress acount after a long time because I’d like to start posting again. However, it seems to not let me post any new posts. Plus, there is an old website connected to my WordPress account that doesn’t even exist any more. I tried deleting the connected website and tried over riding the settings but nothing works and all attempts failed. In desperation, I resorted to clicing on the ‘close my account’ option but then recieved the popup message that I won’t be able to re-open an account under this email address for 30 days. Is there any way to restart my account without the old info without deleting it entirely? This is really frustrating.

You appear to have closed this account right after creating this forum thread. Please reply to the account closure confirmation email we sent you when you did that if you still need any help with this, as you won’t be able to reply in the forums via an account that no longer exists.
