trying to set up a site like example.wordpress.com

I am trying to setup a new free site to get started on a blog. I was hoping for my full name and then .wordpress.com. However, it said I needed a token to do this, and after logged out and then back in, the only free options I was given were .home.blog urls. I prefer the .wordpress.com url. I am not sure what is going?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Usually you’ll get a home.blog url if the wordpress.com url is already taken.
Try typing the address you want into your address bar. If it’s available, it will say so and give you a link to create the site.
If there’s another site there already, sorry. And if it says it is reserved, it means a corresponding username already exists in our system — if that’s you, try logging in as that user first.
