Trying to temporarily remove URL from Google through the Removals tool

  Hi all, I am trying to use the Google Removals Tool to remove my site from Google Search results temporarily. This link provided me with instructions on how to do that:

  However, I am struggling to verify my site. I’ve tried multiple methods:

  1. I tried copying the TXT record into the DNS configuration for my site but since it is a free site I could not edit the DNS
  2. I tried uploading a HTML file to my website but received this error message “Sorry, This File Type Is Not Permitted for Security Reasons”
  3. I tried putting an HTML tag into my homepage’s heading but Google could not find ‘Theme Editor’ in my wordpress dashboard. I would appreciate help in finding a way to edit my theme.

  I have a completely free account I don’t have any plugins installed. Am I making a mistake somewhere? How can I verify me website?
