Ttransfer wordpress websote from local server to wordpress free hosting account

  hi there, as in the title, I would like to test my website before paying for hosting. I followed instruction here for file transfer First method http://www.wpexplorer.com/wordpress-local-to-live/.
  Files were transfer, but themes and plugging were not, so the website ends up looking bad. How to transfer the website into the server and preserve all themes and data? can wordpress free hosting do it ? thanks Joanna

  There are differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. You can import content to WordPress.com but not themes, widgets, menus etc. Those would all have to be set up again at your new WordPress.com free site. (And if you could use the same theme would depend if there is a WordPress.com version of the theme you have been using). https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/

  thanks, very surprising, why is that? I can import themes to any hosting server but cannot if the hosting is by wordpress itself ?

  Hi there,

  Here on WordPress.com we use our own version of the WordPress software and don’t provide direct access to the server, so you cannot upload a site’s database directly here. We also only allow use of plugins and custom themes on the Business Plan.

  The only way to migrate an entire self-hosted site here is via a plugin like All-in-one WP Migration. Otherwise you’ll only be able to import the content, i.e. posts, pages, comments and media files.
