Tumblr Blog Importing Won’t Import New Posts.
-
I imported my Tumblr blog on to WordPress years ago. Today I wanted to update my page and import all of my new/unimported posts from my Tumblr to my WordPress from the years since then.
But the import tool won’t update my WordPress Tumblr page with any of my new posts, nor does it show any new side blogs I’ve made ever since my previous import as options to be imported.
I don’t get any errors, it seems like the import does finish normally, and I’ve tried disconnecting my Tumblr and reconnecting it a number of times. But it just won’t important anything new.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there
Thank you for reaching out about moving your Tumblr posts over to WordPress!
The WordPress importer is like taking a snapshot of your Tumblr blog; however, if you post something new on Tumblr tomorrow, WordPress won’t know about it.
If the approach you’re willing to take is to automatically copy your future Tumblr posts to WordPress, you’ll need to set up a “bridge” to connect them. These are some of the ways to do it:- WordPress Plugins: These are like mini add-ons for your website. A popular one, WP Tumblr Auto Publish, can act as a bridge to send your new posts over.
- Automation Tools: You can use free or cheap services like Zapier. Think of Zapier as a digital assistant.
If you are planning to move to WordPress permanently, the best strategy is a quick one-two punch:
- Run the importer to bring over your old posts.
- Immediately set up one of the “bridges” mentioned above so your new posts don’t get lost while you finish setting up your new site.
For a friendly, step-by-step guide to using the importer, check out the official Import from Tumblr guide on WordPress.com.
