Turn Off Autosave!!!

  I have a free WordPress (.com) site and the autosave feature keeps crashing my site every time I try to do an edit on a draft. It saves literally, like every 3 seconds, and then takes like two minutes to reload which makes it impossible to edit ANYTHING without spending HOURS for a single edit. I have NO idea how to fix this to stop it from saving so often. I would prefer to turn it OFF it possible. I have seen in the help section about altering some sort of WordPress site file but I do not have any type of option like that on my free site. Also, how can I find out how much space I am currently using? I have no option to find that out either!!
