Twitter follow icon does not display properly
-
I tried to post a twitter follow icon via the text widgets, but when I check to see how it looks on the blog, the code is displayed right below the icon/badge. I used the code that twitter generates. I thought I could fix it by using the code wordpress provides, but that didn’t work either. No icon showed up, just letters and code. Help!

That is because the code is insecure and not used here. Use the prefab Twitter widget that WordPress.com supplies.

That would work if I wanted my tweets to be public, but I like to approve my followers. Because my account is protected, the prefab widget won’t work. Any other ideas? thanks!

Just write a text widget. It seems counterintuitive that you’d like to publicize your Twitter while protecting your tweets.
