Unable to Access WordPress Backend (/wp-admin/) – issue continues

“Hmmm… can’t reach this page
The connection was reset.”
That’s the message I get trying to get directly to the dashboard. I had this issue three days ago and you told someone else it was resolved at the time (with a timeout error but I think this is the same). I have a number of blogs and I can’t get to any of them.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Adding to this with one of my other blogs. I can get to the dashboard on this one but when I try to edit a page it claims the page can’t be found. When I try classic editor it looks nothing like the page should – and I also can’t get to the site itself. Quick edit isn’t even moving.

The issues persist, with another fresh issue with this blog of mine;
https://thewrestlingpit.wordpress.com/The dashboard looks like pure old style HTML and not formatted as it should. It’s the same on the posts page when I go there.
I have seen staff around. Please answer and assist.

Hi there,
Thanks for flagging these. You’re dealing with a few different symptoms across your sites, so let’s work through them.
I pulled up your dashboard and page editor from our end and everything loaded as expected, which suggests the issue is likely on the browser or network side rather than with the sites themselves.
For the “connection was reset” error when trying to reach wp-admin directly, and the dashboard appearing as unstyled HTML on thewrestlingpit.wordpress.com, a few things to try:
- Clear your browser cache completely, then try again.
- Try a different browser, or open an incognito/private window in your current one. This rules out extensions.
- If you’re using any ad blockers, privacy extensions, or VPNs, try disabling them temporarily.
The unstyled dashboard (where it looks like plain HTML with no formatting) usually means the stylesheets aren’t loading, which is almost always a browser or network-level issue rather than something wrong with the site itself.
For philgluyasautism.wordpress.com: if you can reach the dashboard but pages show as “not found” when editing, could you let us know which page you’re trying to edit and what URL you’re seeing when the error appears? That’ll help narrow down whether it’s a permalink or settings issue.
Can you also let us know which blog is giving you the “connection was reset” error? Since you mention having several blogs, knowing the specific URL will help us check from our end.

Okay – I switched to my laptop and I was able to access the Autism blog and the Wrestling Pit and edit the page concerned on the former while adding blog posts on the latter. So it looks like there’s a browser issue on my desktop. The page on the Autism blog that was showing up as not there was the ASD Awards. No link showed – just a message saying it wasn’t there. I can’t remember the exact words.
I’ll try and clear the cache when I can and see if that helps with the desktop browser, and get back to you on that one. I didn’t get the connection reset on this browser, but for the record on my desktop browser I was getting that error for all my blogs, and even others that are not mine. As Microsoft’s support lines are helpless if you can assist within your guidelines it would be appreciated. Thank you for responding. -
Okay it looks like clearing the cache (AKA the temp files) did the trick – I’m back on the desktop and it looks fine now. This can be considered solved.
