Unable to add any image content to posts – select button in media centre not wor

    Hi,

    I have been struggling unsuccessfully to resolve a problem with my sige that seems to have happened overnight..

    I can upload images into the media library with no problems.
    I click ghe image and it hightlights the image and the ‘select’ button changes to indicate it is available but when I click the select button, nothing happens. I get the same problem whether I am adding a image to a page, a post or even trying to set a featured image.

    I can copy the url of an existing image from the library into a browser and it displays the image ok.

    I have deactivated all plugins.

    I have reinstalled the latest wp.

    I have switched to a basic theme.

    I cleared my browser cache.

    I have checked the media library image and image folder authorities.

    I am running the latest support php.

    I’ve tried everything I could find online and none of the suggested solutions have made any difference,

    This is essentially making WP unusuable for me as I cannot add or any image content for any post.

    Interestingly I can add a header image for the site, which appears to use the same media library screen. In this specific situation it seems to work ok… maybe that gives a clue as to what the problem is?

    Any help that someone could offer would be most appreciated.
