Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors
-
I was attempting to update the footer of our page (in Appearance>Editor>Footer.php) to include a mail chimp subscribe form when I got the error: ‘Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP’
I left that page only to return later on and see that everything that was in the Editor for the footer was gone. I found the original Sydney footer PHP online, and tried to paste it. I got the same error. Now when I try to go to my site, it continually shows it is loading and doesn’t ever actually get to the website.
Please help.
