Unable to edit sidebar

  Hey guys, new here… first time posting.
  The site in question is http://www.ibasketblog.com

  I downloaded this theme called ‘cool-basketball’ and it has that sidebar, which says Categories, Cool Web Links, meta etc…. I want to remove them and add other widgets. Tried most things and cannot take those off.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  (1) There is no FTP access to wordpress.com blogs. We have no FTP access and cannot upload themes or plugins of any kind.

  (2) the only themes we can use on wordpress.com blogs are found here > Appearance > Themes

  (3) Please familiarize yourself with the support documentation found at this link http://en.support.wordpress.com/

  You are probably correct. I noticed that there is a wordpress.com blog linked to this username, and he has failed to tell us if he is referring to it or not.
