Unable to Email Accept Invite as a Blog Editor

An email was sent to my gmail account to be invited as an editor on another blog. When I press ‘Accept Invitation’ on the email, it opens a new tab saying:
‘Would you like to start editing (blog name here)?
As an editor, you will be able to publish and manage your own posts and the posts of others, as well as upload media.’
When I press join, a red banner pops up on the upper right corner and says, ‘This user is not authorized to create_users on this blog.’ I’m already logged into my WordPress account and have tried on my other accounts, but the same notification appears.Can someone please help me resolve this issue?

Hi there,
I can see you added to that site, but you’re only added as a subscriber, not as a contributor. Can you please ask the owner of that site to change your user role to editor? They should be able to do it from My Sites ->People.
If they’re unable to do that, or it just again sends an invitation to you that doesn’t work, please ask them to start a live chat with us so we can look into this. But in this case we would need to deal with the site owner directly, as we’ll need their permission to manually add you if it comes down to it.
