Unable to embed Vimeo video

  I am unable to embed video from my Vimeo channel. Why?

  I edit using the Classic editor on Hemingway Rewritten. I’m unable to embed the video using the block editor too.

  Vimeo had an outage problem an hour earlier, but are back up and running.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I was able to fix the issue myself, but I still want to why you have changed the HTML coding without giving any sort of heads up.

  I’m having the same trouble; Just started yesterday and it’s driving me nuts. I’ve tried updating all my plug-ins (only one needed it), and nothing seems to work so I’m curious … what did you do to fix this?

  This is what I did to fix the issue:

  [embed]https://player.vimeo.com/video/#########[/embed]

  1. If using the block editor, select the HTML block
  2. The piece of HTML code you’ll need to insert: [embed]https://player.vimeo.com/video/#########[/embed], with “#########” representing the Vimeo video file you want to embed. Make sure to remove the quotation marks.
  3. The Vimeo video should embed.

  The Classic editor is getting more and more outdated. You can very easy embed a Vimeo Video on your wordpress.com site using the Video or Vimeo Block – https://wordpress.com/support/videos/vimeo/

  Sorry, it wasn’t working yesterday and still not working today.

  I did try the block editor, I did try the video and the Vimeo block. Say what you want about the Classic Editor, we’ve been with WP since the beginning in 2005. It still works for us.
